That exactly describes a wiki-war, or more commonly called a "revet war". And that basically sums up my whole experience with wiki. Everything, I tried to add to some articles kept getting changed back by the same guy. Then, looking back in the history of the article, he did the same thing to everyone else, his talk page also had tons of negative comments from people complaining about the same thing he was doing to me. Wikipedia works when one realizes that they don't have ownership of any given article and allows others to add their input as well.
