If the existing motorcycle battery is either shorted or at a very low
voltage .... then the car battery will attempt to bring the voltage up
to it's voltage ... This is the inrush amperage Don is referring to.
The car battery does have enough amperage capacity to blow up the
little guy ...... A two volt difference would cause an inrush amperage
flow of over 25 amps ... a shorted battery could draw up to the full
output capability of the auto battery and would be burnt open very
quickly ... (hopefully resulting in a muffled "pop") ......
