With arrows it works. The pieces do not use "Does not stack" trait. I still cannot order them with a simple mouse drag & drop as I can when I don't use a grid but since it's ok with arrows, that suits me fine. The module I have trouble with is one I'm designing (EuroFront2/WestFront2/EastFront2) I did a lot of seach in the mail list archive today for different issues I mostly found answers to this way but not this one. Can't think of any reason why I did not search for this last. Mea Maxima Culpa. David ROBERT

Note that you should still be able to grab individual pieces and place them within an expanded stack whether or not the map has a grid or not, I'm not sure why it's not working for you. What module are you trying this with? Perhaps that particular module has the "does not stack" trait applied to some/all the pieces?
