Ian, I've been using the vbAccelerator Grid Control for a long time now, and i have to tell you that i LOVE it. It's very flexible, much faster than FlexGrid, and it works pretty well. It installs well too, in customers machines, it's never given me any trouble (except when i forget to add ssubtmr.dll with the installation too)
If you have the time, give it a shot. It's free, open source, and works great.
