Thanks Daniel - I'll certainly give it a go, I did look at SGrid2 but found too
many incompatibilities to start changing the app at this stage. I've just
about given up with the Flexgrid (which is a total misnomer as it's anything
but flexible), the only way I've found to stop this problem happening is to
disable (remove) the scrollbars and add a scrollbar control to the side of the
grid and drive it all manually - that works! But then so does suicide to cure
sleeplessness!

Regards
Ian

  Ian,

I've been using the vbAccelerator Grid Control for a long time now, and i
have to tell you that i LOVE it. It's very flexible, much faster than
FlexGrid, and it works pretty well.
It installs well too, in customers machines, it's never given me any trouble
(except when i forget to add ssubtmr.dll with the installation too)

If you have the time, give it a shot. It's free, open source, and works
  great.

  Hope it helps
  Daniel
