Thanks Daniel - I'll certainly give it a go, I did look at SGrid2 but found too many incompatibilities to start changing the app at this stage. I've just about given up with the Flexgrid (which is a total misnomer as it's anything but flexible), the only way I've found to stop this problem happening is to disable (remove) the scrollbars and add a scrollbar control to the side of the grid and drive it all manually - that works! But then so does suicide to cure sleeplessness!
