why the question marks?

Maybe I installed the server software in the wrong place.
It is Ubuntu Server 64 bit and is located in the first primary partition.

The setup of partitions is:
     /
     swap 2 gig
     /home

Is this correct?

From what you say below it seems that the actual VBox software should
be in /home/.virtualbox. Is that correct?

I understand that VBox will put the guest modules wherever I specify
which I guess could be /home or /vdi?

So the disk would look like this:

     / Ubuntu server software
     swap
     /home
     /home/.virtualbox the actual VBox software
     /vdi
     /vdi/module1
     /vdi/module2
     etc

Would you please comment on my above.
