Hi Itamar,
If you want your machine to work after importing it from image, you did
right removing udev rule, b/c mac address changes every time you import
machine.

Since it creates automatically after reboot, to not remove it every time
before you making image I'd suggest to remove the base udev rule itself
that persists machine's mac address into
/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules

On CentOS it is in /lib/udev/rules.d/75-persistent-net-generator.rules .
