We do keep telling people to download it from svn and compile it. It's pretty stable.
The new event handlers aren't documented yet. Henning also has ideas for reformatting the docs to reflect different versions. I still think that getting together at ApacheCon time sounds like a good idea to me. Monday and Tuesday are tutorials -- I'm not participating.
