Got 6 scissors or so. I bought my favorite pair 10 years ago from a fellow tier at a show in Germany, and it is still going strong. The other one I use most of the time is a tung.carbide scissors. Also have one pair of surgical scissors I swapped with a surgeon for a dozen of sea trout flies. Very nice for delicate work. I want my scissors to be sharp and stay sharp, and I want to be able to keep them in my hand (or on my middle finger) when I tie. I have noticed that I have become so used to tying this way with both my fav scissors that I'm all thumbs when I use different scissors.
As for fly tying material: collector - me? :-) Mart ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rene Zillmann" <rene.zillm...@t-online.de> To: <vfb-mail@googlegroups.com> Sent: Thursday, August 20, 2009 6:57 PM Subject: [VFB] ffisher tyer or collector? > > How many scissors do you have and where do you get them? > I myself own appr 15 scissors so far.
