That describes my work environment. Though sitting in front of my screen also means sitting at my fly tying desk. I work with a number of synthetic, non-messy materials that I tie certain flies with. That's fly tying that gets along with all the technical gear. There are three basic single focal length prescriptions that your optometrist can write for you. Distance vision is the most common. Reading glasses are probably second-most popular. Then catching up fast are glasses for use while viewing a computer monitor. Some people are lucky to be able to use the cheap reading glasses. The reading glasses you can buy for a few bucks are closer focus than the computer glasses. A computer glasses prescription is closer focus than the distance glasses. The worse your eyesight, the less apt you are to be able to use your distance glasses as your reading glasses. In regards to the magnifier thread, I am interested in getting the version of Mag Eyes called HatEyes. It's a version that clips onto the bill or brim of a hat. Best price I have seen is $24.95. High quality optics...I tried on a pair at the local sports megastore. For fly tyers, it would work well, since people are used to seeing fly tyers wearing ball caps at the tying demos. I'd also like to use them for general fishing, but am fearful of losing them. At $25 a pop, that's a consideration.
