Try squeezing the mono between the "eyes" with a smooth tipped pair of
pliers. That will make the area flat and more stable.
Another way to hold squiggly stuff on to a hook is to do an over and under
as well as a figure 8 around the hook.
A tip that Dave Whitlock showed me and the rest of the club, was to take a
small file and put a deep scratch on the hook where you want the eyes to
sit.
Another good way is to use some super glue and let it dry before you tie on
any more materials.

Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They're both
dogs.

Subject: [VFB] Properly securing dumbell eyes?

: Hi Everyone,
:
: I'm currently tying a pattern with mono dumbell eyes.
: For the life of me I can't seem to securely stabilize
: them without seemingly excessive wraps.
:
: I've tried all sorts of wrapping methods but the eyes
: still rotate around the hook. Even the figure 8
: doesn't work for me.
:
: Any tips to secure the eyes in only a few wraps?
:
: Thanks in advance,
