OK folks, I have a "gig" to do March 8th it involves teaching 40 kids at a middle school to tie flies. Sounds like fun huh? Thankfully, I have someone else to help with the tying chores. How this came about is the local TU chapter put the science teacher from Evergreen Community School in contact with me. I met with her yesterday and did a tying demo for her and two other teachers and now they want to learn tying too, go figure. Anyway, her students are raising some brook trout for a science project which they plan on releasing before school lets out for summer. After the tying demo they want to have a "Trout Day" at the school where there will be tying instruction, casting instruction, a trout lunch (YUCK!) as well as some officials from the Dept. of Natural Resources to talk about trout habitats and so on.
So now I come to you fine folks on this list. What I am asking is if any of you have a vise or basic tools that you don't use or need anymore and could loan to me for this venture, I will ship them back if you request me to do so. I am also looking for materials to teach them wooly buggers, material colors would not be a factor. If any of you can help that would be great and if not that is OK too. We will take some pictures and find somewhere to post them so you all can take a look.
If you can help contact me off list at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Thank you very much,
Bart
