Chuck,   This could be a long, long debate.  I would suggest that there would need to be a division of at least three categories: Classic flies, realistic flies and fish catching flies.  I am no expert but I have seen incredible works of art in flytying and on the other had simple flies that anyone could tie but which catch lots of fish.  The same could be said for flyfishermen.  There are those that are great at one type of flyfishing and/or one locality.  This line could go on for a long time with choices.    Mike
