some email clients have an option. But it does not help much. Top-vs-bottom depends on the specific mailing list. If I am on mailing list X which has convention of bottom-posting and also on mailing list Y which has convention of top-posting, then single option in mail client is not much helpful. gmail doesn't have this option at all, but I dont feel invonvenienced.
