just what you said above. But in the future I might remove "default", 
though I think it wouldn't make much difference on my system where 
$LC_CTYPE is set to en_US.UTF-8

arabic.txt, hebrew.txt and even options.txt (the latter under 'langmap') 
are already in UTF-8. farsi.txt is not in UTF-8, and I suspect that it 
isn't in Latin1 either.
