I am surprised to see the following weird logic in a few answers:
1. redirect vim.org to www.vim.org is bad, for blablabla reasons
2. ...and, your browser should redirect vim.org to www.vim.org

The fact is: vim.org can't open in many tools/browsers, the browsers
who can open it redirect it to www.vim.org

So, any PRACTICAL reason to not redirect?

About the quoted answer below, I would take it as squeamish.
You could keep typing www. on your own browser until end of the world
anyway, but please don't force this rule to other people as well. Oh,
don't forgot to type "http://"; as it's http, not https.
