This isn't an authoritative response by any means, but that's what I found. My experience is with an RHEL 5.3 system where I let the subscription expire. I found it easiest to just download the source from mercurial and build it myself. It was pretty straightforward, though I do have administration privileges on the machine. While I did build the GUI version, it runs perfectly fine from the console, which is how I use it most of the time.
