Thanks for the help Charles. I actually ended up just hacking the autoload/netrw.vim file and surrounding each function call with:
set noshellslash *function call* set shellslash While its not pretty, it works like a charm. Also, I got rid of the "executable()" condition when attempting to call the MS-DOS commands. Thanks for your suggestion though.
