I've got a 475 and am looking for a 160 med HD, I am probably attempting the
same thing. Hope someone can help you with the installation. Can you point me
in the direction of another 160 HD?

Subject: need help installing system 7.5

I purchased a 160 meg hard drive for an old mac SE, it was supposed to be pre
loaded with system 7.5 but it won't read it. I downloaded the system from
apple, but when ever I try to put it on a diskette using a new Mac, the new mac
writes on it and does not leave enough room.

I found a way to get it on a mac formatted disk. I copy the fil on an IBM
fromated disk, then copy it in to the hard drive of anohter SE that already
has system 7.5 and then back in to a Mac formated disk. Is there any esier way?
Is taking for ever and it does not seem like it is going to read the new
disketes.

Second if I have to get system 7 on it first to get it to run the disketes from
7.5, how do a get it in. The file that apple has is 4megs and I can't put it
on diskets, any ideas. In ohter words how do I get an operating systme on a Mac
with a hard drive that does not have one.

Is there somewhere where I can download a boot disk? Any ideas on how to get
the sytem in. I'm lost any help will be apreciated.

Abel
