I realize that, compared to Apple's latest offerings, an eight (soon to turn 
nine) year old Pismo might seem like a "vintage" machine.

Alas, the machines discussed on the Vintage Macs list are of the pre-PowerPC 
variety (i.e. Macs that used 680X0 processors).
