Sounds like a great idea... not. Call me font-challenged, but your
little Apple in the subject line is just a hollow square on my PC
running MS Outlook. I rarely use a Mac (during the day) to read
postings to the various LEM groups that I subscribe to. I was trying
to figure out why somebody would put a square in their subject... now
I know.

I agree with the other posters that suggested filtering on the To:
field. I'm not sure what you're looking for and what your setup is,
but this is how I do it in Outlook (and OS X Mail which is configured
to synch with my mailbox on the Exchange server).

1. I have a folder for each group I subscribe to
2. Make a rule/filter that keys on the To: field of incoming e-mails.
3. Based on the To: field, e-mails are moved to their respective
folders as Unread
4. Each folder is sorted by Subject and the 'Show in Groups' option is
checked. This will cause Outlook to group all e-mails with the same
subject (including the RE:'s) together. There is a similar method to
do this in Mail. In OS X Mail, select View/Organize by Thread

Now you can see whenever you have a new/unread message in these
folders because Outlook and Mail will show a number (representing the
number of unread messages) next to each folder name. Give it try.

Lonnie.
