Wow, you right, I'm totally 'hoarding' the Apple IIe cards, ha!

Then I'll sell them for 1 billion dollars.

Seriously, did I sound like I was out to make a quick buck?

I hope I didn't.

Several of you have mentioned that the machines are next to worthless on
the market. But I paid for most of these that I collected at least in
shipping about $20-$50 each.

Maybe you all are sitting next to a 'hoard' of LC type machines? I live
in Utah and haven't seen many these looking in recyclers shops,
craigslist or anything else. I guess I'm just unlucky?

Again, my idea was to merge the nostalgia of the Apple II with the love
of the 68k macs in these LC type units that have the Apple IIe card.

That's why I have a few of the Apple IIe cards and they cost me about
$40 each or so plus shipping.

Can't find any of the cables anywhere on the lists or eBay and I've been
looking around.

Seriously though, I'm probably going to start another project after this
one making those cables so we can match them up with all the cable-less
IIe cards. There are always cards available on eBay that don't have the
cable (or even software), and I'm sure there are a few people out there
with cards without the cables too.

And I guess it's not marketable to have the capacitors replaced in these
if I pay $10 and spend the time on them? I figured someone would
appreciate that it might last longer, but maybe is just a selling
feature.

Anyway I am not planning on making a side job out of this, just messing
around for fun on about 10 units then calling it quits (my sons love
learning about the hardware and software and buying/selling stuff).

We're seeing that you're hoarding IIe cards, and then plan to sell them
for more than you paid for them, according to what you've said so far.
