I didn't know there was a difference between boot and start-up. The Centris is back to the same symptoms I described in the first post. I get the bong, then the happy mac, but then the disk spits out and the Centris restarts.
And no, I didn't replace the PRAM battery. But when I was successful booting up, it was with the old battery. Another thing I noticed was that during the successful boot-ups, the video had a lot of artifacts on the left-hand side. I've tested the monitor with another computer, and it worked fine, so I know it's not the monitor. Any ideas? -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
