Well, after hours of figuring out a convoluted solution to get the patched HD SC onto the LC II, I finally got it, only to have the LC II give me the same message about not being able to find a suitable device attached to the SCSI port. At this point, I'm calling bad SCSI bus, and, by extension, bad logic board. It sat in a basement for years, so that's not surprising. Disappointing, yes, but not surprising.
So, I'm on to the swap list to find an LC II or III logic board. And maybe an Ethernet PDS card while I'm at it. Thanks for all your help, guys!
