Hello all! I've had, for some time now, a Macintosh SE/30. It came in my possession as a 'SimasiMac'. Neat little squares at startup and no booting action of any kind. I have washed the logicboard, which solved the SimasiMac problem, but since then only half the lines on the screen were drawn up correctly.
Firstly, a good friend of mine assisted me in replacing all the caps, isolating one cause of the problem. When investigating the video problem further (and some Googling) we discovered that one of the video RAM chips had a short between pin 1 & 2. Probably because of leaking caps, possibly washing the logic board. I'm now searching for a replacement chip, to fit that spot. Preferably two, so I can replace both. SE/30's are rather difficult to obtain here in the Netherlands, so I was wondering if someone here knows a working replacement for the chips, or knows another machine/videocard/ networkcard/anything that has an identical chip on it. I have mountains of Nubus videocards, so maybe one of those will sport the right chip? Thanks in advance for any help!
