Thanks for all the tips.  I tried the shift key, tried the C key with
a disk, held down the option key (the DVD icon did not appear) the
hard drive icon appeared but after clicking the arrow, same thing
happened, did not start up to desk top.  I also tried an external
Lacie DVD with different disks.  No change but I am not sure the Lacie
is working.  I don't have DiskWarrior but I tried to boot up with a
Tech Tool and an Apple hard ware check disk. Can't figure it out.  It
does chime when I hit the start  button.
