Do you like life? If not don't bother to discharge the CRT. Yes the charge will 
PROBABLY have dissipated...hey is that gun loaded? Pick it up finger on the 
trigger and find out...

Much better safe than sorry

Been a couple decades since I opened a 128/512/Plus but here I sit, case popper 
and Torx T 15 in hand and a Mac 512 just inches away...

The soldering is easy just be careful to flow the soldier onto the tip of the 
iron and then onto the trace. Keep the heat (tip of the iron) away from the 
board as, as I recall, the boards are four layer ones and heat applied to the 
trace could cause more problems

Chiton (yes the auto repair book company) had an excellent manual but I 
supposed it is about as common a a Dove Mac Snap upgrade or Rodime or Jasmine 
Drive. Alas.
