I do not know if the HD bracket is in there or if it is the same one as the second floppy bracket on there or not. On my SE, I think I have got a 250 m Apple branded drive.
There is something to be said for using external cases though, especially the ones that have the same footprint as the compact Macs. If the case is under the computer, it raises the screen to a better viewing angle (for me anyway). It also makes it easier to backup the hard drive if you have another machine with a SCSI port. Another option to consider is using a Zip drive, especially if you have another machine with one.
