And you just addressed the rest of my prep procedure. I have de-natured alcohol and Q-tips and a soft bristle toothbrush. I assure you, I leave no white residue. Yes, lelaking caps are deteriorated. But to set up the Mac, the wash process gives the tech a second chance to access it before a re-cap.

( annoying ) A wash is not really a bad thing as long as you use a real air compressor with a blow gun pop out the Rom's, and blast out everything really good… Blast all the water out from under IC's and PDS / Nubus slots / Ram Slots / Headers, if not then minerals from the water will cake up/and maybe farther corrode and cause other issues. I love when during cap removal, the cap leads have literally rusted because water sat in there and rusted them away.
