There's some confusion here as to what is meant by "size".  The first answer
was right, I think, if you're talking about the actual size of the monitor
(a 21" monitor will work fine on one of the earliest Macs, it will just run
at 640X480, making for BIG low-res icons) the second answer was correct if
you are talking about monitor _resolution_.

Or maybe, they were actually talking about what monitor will physically fit
on top of different Mac models, i.e. "will a Mac IIx support a monitor that
is 10 feet wide and weighs 87658765 pounds?"
