Hi Alan,
I doubt it is a problem, but why not spend $10 or $15 instead of $30 or more and get a longer cable from Amazon or Monoprice. I have a couple of 10 foot cables from Monoprice and also one of the “Amazon Basics” Lightning cables (I think it’s 8 or 10 feet as well) and they all work great. I believe the Monoprice cables are around $12 and the Amazon maybe $15, can’t remember. At least one other confirmed this message and got a 2-meter lightning cable from the Apple Store in order to avoid it. I can now confirm that I only get this unsupported accessory message after my iPhone is fully charged. I believe others have also reported this same result. So, I decided to save the $30 on the 2-meter lightning cable and continue to use my USB extension cables to provide more length since the phone does charge with this arrangement. If anyone thinks my approach could be detrimental to my iPhone, I'd love to hear your comments. Thanks. Alan Lemly -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list.
