Hello,

This is a known bug and we are hoping it will be fixed in the next iOS update.
If you enter the birthday in the person's contact entry, iPhone will
automatically place it in the calendar. To add a birthday in a contact, go to
the edit screen. Near the bottom / end of the screen, activate the add field
button and select birthday from the list. Now, you will be able to set the date
using the picker at the bottom of the screen - lists for year, month, and day.
The fields are initially populated with the current date.
