I don't know about that. I have inputted a number of specific birthdays in my contact list (I told you I'm a record-keeping nut), and so far none of them have surfaced in my calendar. Is there a setting I need to activate to make that happen?

If you enter the birthday in the person's contact entry, iPhone will automatically place it in the calendar. To add a birthday in a contact, go to the edit screen.
