I don't know about that. I have inputted a number of specific birthdays in
my contact list (I told you I'm a record-keeping nut), and so far none of
them have surfaced in my calendar. Is there a setting I need to activate to
make that happen?

Nice! So will we then get reminded on the day that its the contact's
birthday? Might give this a shot!

Hello,

This is a known bug and we are hoping it will be fixed in the next iOS
update. If you enter the birthday in the person's contact entry, iPhone will
automatically place it in the calendar. To add a birthday in a contact, go
to the edit screen. Near the bottom / end of the screen, activate the add
field button and select birthday from the list. Now, you will be able to set
the date using the picker at the bottom of the screen - lists for year,
month, and day. The fields are initially populated with the current date.
