The days of getting a new phone on carrier contract are fading fast. Like was said before, if you want a phone on contract then hit those carriers quick. My wife and I got new 6S's in September through T-Mobile and signed onto the new lease program, paying a certain amount per month. If we had waited until the iPhone 7 next fall, then we would probably have had to get on the lease program through AT&T, which would have been much more expensive. T-Mobile let us trade in our prior phones which brought the monthly cost way down. For instance, I am paying $5 per month to lease the 6S, and my wife is paying $15 a month I think. I think that contracts are only offered in stores but that will likely disappear in the next 6-12 months and everyone will be leasing--whether you want to or not.
