Hi guys. I have a curious problem, it in no way impacts on the function of
the phone but I don't understand why VO does what it does.

VO does not pronounce "calendar" properly. When I do a character by
character check, the spelling is correct but VO does not say it correctly.
What I hear is; and this is phonetic is "toy=lhp calanderkapp.$ and this
makes no sense. Does anybody know how to correct this, it isn't critical
but I'd rather change it if I could but first I need to know what causes the
problem. Walter.

Yes, you can send SMS messages by email, but you won't get a reply.

I did this as well with my T-MObile phone. but the reply has never come back
to my Mac. so maybe this only goes one way?

        OK, it works.

If you have Consumer Cellular, you can use the AT&T code.

I just sent a text to my work phone which is on AT&T and another to
my personal phone which is on Consumer Cellular, from Outlook 2016 on my
Windows 10 computer, but I suspect this will work with other versions of
Windows.

I formatted the to field as iphonenum...@text.att.ent
<mailto:iphonenum...@text.att.ent> and put text in the subject so Outlook
wouldn't flag it as not having a subject, then wrote some text in the body
of the Email and hit send.

Poof, I received the text message on my work iPhone. Then, I did
the same with my personal phone.

Very slick if you don't want to go and grab your iPhone.

I suspect this works with any cell phone.

I found this on a web site, I have no idea if it works.

How To Send SMS Messages From Windows 10 Computer to a Phone

Method 1 - Send Messages Through Email

Probably the simplest way to send messages from your computer to a
cell phone is through the email. To do so, just follow these instructions:

        1. Open Windows 10 Mail App

        2. Click on New Mail

        3. Now just enter the number you want to send the text message
to and enter the code of your provider. Here are message codes of some
popular providers:

        o Alltel: @message.alltel.com <http://message.alltel.com/> (or
@mms.alltelwireless.com <http://mms.alltelwireless.com/>  for picture
messages)

        o AT&T: @text.att.net <http://text.att.net/>

        o Sprint: @messaging.sprintpcs.com
<http://messaging.sprintpcs.com/>

        o T-Mobile: @tmomail.net <http://tmomail.net/>

        o Verizon: @vtext.com <http://vtext.com/> (or @vzwpix.com
<http://vzwpix.com/> for photos and video) <image001.png>
<http://wind8apps.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/sms-message-from-windows-10
-e1443085211960.png>

        4. Write the message as a normal email and just hit Send

When your friend replies to your text message, you'll also get it in
your Mail inbox.

        Method 2 - Send Message From A Carrier's website

A lot of mobile carriers offer you an option to send free SMS
messages from your computer for free. Depending on the carrier, you'll be
able to send text messages to other users of that carrier's services, or
even users of other networks. So just go to your carrier's website, log into
your account, find the option for texting, and send the text message from
your computer.

        Hi,
Anyone know of a way we can use our Windows computers to send and
receive our text messages?

        Thx -Steve
