Hi, Everyone. My Mom's in her late sixties and is gun shy re technology. I think she agreed to the update without understanding what she was doing; she said she'd charged her phone overnight and when she opened it in the morning, must've done something and then got the "hello" set-up screen. She called me asking what to do, and since I'd never seen that screen before--my husband handles all the back-ups and updates for me,--I had no idea what to do.
I'll keep the messages you've sent in reply to my question for reference, and since I have yet to update to 9.3, will make sure to be an active participant so I understand what's happening onscreen in case my Mom gets install happy in future.
