I’ve been in correspondence with Apple Accessibility about this problem which occurred again on updating to iOS 10.1.1. However, this time, turning VoiceOver off didn’t fix the problem. They asked me to send them the crash logs which I did, and they saw that VoiceOver had been crashing multiple times and suggested a clean install. I had, of course, already done this. I wonder what it is about my particular phone or setup that is causing this problem.
