Hi guys, A friendly request: If you are going to keep up this thread about Emails, could you change the subject line?
Thanks, Richard -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Tuesday, February 7, 2017 6:07 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Getting Pictures Off of an iPad Mini to a Windows PC Hi Christopher, I totally agree in that I find reading my email on the iPhone is just as easy as on the PC. Also, if I just need to send a brief message or reply to an email it's OK, but if I have to email somebody, maybe attach several documents, go to a website and get a link which I then need to insert into the email or even I may have to insert a table into the email body then doing that on an iPhone quickly and efficiently is pretty hopeless. I sometimes have to send an email to a supplier with instructions to pay a number of invoices. I would have these invoices in a simple Excel spreadsheet with usually 3 or 4 columns (invoice number, invoice date, due date and amount) and whatever number of rows depends on how many invoices I have to pay, could be 3 or 4 or a dozen or 15 or even 20. At the bottom I then have the total. I can open that Excel file, copy the range of columns and rows and paste it into an email in about 15 or 20 seconds on the PC. I have never tried it on the iPhone, but I'm pretty sure it would be quite a challenge. As for Mike,, you mentioned that you are trying to keep up managing your Inbox for your Outlook account on your PC and iPhone. If you set up your Outlook account correctly there should be no need to manually have to do this as whatever you do on one device will be reflected on the other and vice versa. I have my personal email account set up on my laptop at home, one of my work desktops and on my iphone and my email and contacts are always up to date no matter on which device I added or deleted a contact or where I composed, replied to or deleted an email. Smart phones have more than enough computing power to make handling emails just as efficient as on a PC. The applications used may need some improvement to get there, but there's nothing limiting about a mobile platform when it comes to handling emails. Also, the delta between what you can do now on your smart phone and what you can do on your PC isn't nearly as wide as the message below would make you believe. I prefer to do most of my emailing from my PC, but when my PC isn't available to me, such as when I'm traveling, the difference is more like 30 minutes on my PC to 45 minutes on my smart phone. This is just an estimate, but it's definitely not seconds versus hours. I'm not sure if this is just unabashed exaggeration or maybe the poster just isn't as proficient with email aps on their smart phone as they are with email clients on their PC. Either way, below is just one person's experience and just one persons opinion. On 07/02/17 06:53, Pablo Cesar Morales wrote: > Management of emails from a smart phone? > > No way.
