Have you tried calibrating the battery? The way this is done is to run it all the way down until the phone actually shuts down. Let it sit for about 20 minutes and then charge it all the way. I've read several articles that say this is a good idea ever so often.

No, I don't.  But I've had two different iPhones for several years, and I think that a several percentage drain, like from 100% to 92 with a locked screen and no notification or apps running in the background is odd.

I wouldn't t have asked the list or posted a list of things I had tried if I were expecting my battery to remain at 100%.

Also, as I've pointed out, this heavy drain didn't happen before iOS 12.

*Subject: *Battery still an issue with iPhone SE and iOS 12

Hi, all.  I'm using an eighteen month old iPhone SE.  I've had iOS 12

for over a month and I'm still plagued by battery issues.

I can unplug my phone once it's charged to 100% and leave it alone for

six or seven hours and my battery will be at around 92% with no apps

running, the phone being locked and set to Do Not Disturb.

I always have four Verizon bars and three wifi bars, so the phone isn't

even having difficulty finding a signal on either network. This battery

drain happens while the phone is unplugged and sitting on my nightstand

in the same room as the wifi router and a window, so there again, it's

not having issues staying connected.

Here's what I've tried so far to resolve the issue:  Screen time is off,

Location services are off, Auto brightness is off, raise to wake is off,

background app refresh is off, Email and other push notifications have

been disabled, network settings have been reset at least twice.  I've

also rebooted the phone with the power/home button combo.  Last week I

tried charging it to 100, shutting the phone down completely, and

keeping it plugged into the charger for about eight hours.

I didn't have these issues before upgrading from iOS 10 to 12. Before

the upgrade I noticed the biggest battery drain using YouTube or other

apps where the phone had to be unlocked while in use, but that was expected.

My only thought now is to do the reset where I need to restore the phone

as a new device.

Is there anything else I can do to resolve the issue?  Also, if I do the

restore, can I do this using iTunes, my PC and no working eyeballs?

Other than the battery issues, I'm not having any difficulty with my

phone.  And, as I said, I wasn't having these issues before the upgrade.

TIA for thoughts.

Lisa
