The Bose QuietComfort 35 is now the "series II" and has built-in support for
Alexa and Google Assistant. However, even the series II came out already in
2017 and while still available, the current version of these is now called the
Bose noise cancelling wireless Bluetooth headphones 700. Of course at $499
Canadian they are even another $50 more than the QuietComfort 35 series II
which still cost an expensive $449. And while they say they are light weight,
they both way over half a pound, 236 grams to be exact, for the QuietComfort 35
series II and 249 grams for the 700. The on-ear Sony headset I just bought
weighs 130 grams, it cost $69.99 and while it doesn't have noise cancellation
or built-in digital assistants, it sounds actually quite good for a Bluetooth
headset.
Another classic, available for $440 on Amazon Canada is the  Sony WH1000XM3. It
is also a Noise Cancelling, Wireless Bluetooth Over the Ear Headphone.
For the Sony it says that in Bluetooth mode the frequency response is 20 to
20,000 Hz, in passive wired mode (that means hooked up with a cable and power
turned off) it is 4 to 40,000 Hz, again this shows the loss of quality with
Bluetooth.
Also just saw that Vision.ca which is a smaller chain of electronics stores in
Canada sells it for $349.99 which even when converted is less than the $298
they cost at most places in the US.

Regards,
Sieghard

Hi Shermeen

If your wanting over ear and real indepth sound then I'd suggest the Boes quiet
comfort qc35's
I'm not sure of the cost of them in your part of the world but the sound
quality and noise cancelling make for a real emmersion sensation.

 Check them out.

I can't afford a pair myself but I have used a friends and he had to hit me to
get my attention as they block everything out except what your listening to.

Good luck.

Subject: Bose headphones?

Happy Monday all,

Is anyone using Bose over-the-ear or on-ear headphones? can you comment on
sound quality of music? I'd like to feel as though I'm right there, conducting
the orchestra or starring in the song I'm listening to, if you know the feeling
I'm after. Good bass is a must, although not too obnoxious (you know when
you're in a car, stopped at a light, and the bass of the car next to you is
rattling everything within a kilometer range? that's not what I'm after).

And of course, if anyone has other recommendations, that would be great. Note
that I am not looking for anything that goes in the ear itself.

Thank you!

Shermeen
