Hi Richard and all,

I thought about contacting Apple but feared that they'd dismiss it as not being their problem since it's specific to an app that isn't theirs but couldn't hurt maybe I'll try that.  As far as I am aware all settings are the same on both devices by me.  Both were set up as new. I've tried it with screen recognition and image recognition turned on and off just for fun and it had no impact whatsoever.  If there are any other settings that might be relevant you think I should check let me know.

It's my totally uneducated opinion that this might not be an Apple thing specific to the 12 Pro Max as it hasn't manifested with any other edit field throughout the OS or within this app itself.  For instance the edit field in their search or discover tab works just fine it's just this one edit field in this one area.

So the mystery just gets stranger and stranger.

If those new settings are the same on both, then it sounds like a 12 pro max issue and perhaps a screen recording sent to Apple would help?

I have the same problem on my iPhoneProMax also, but not my iPadPro 11 inch.  Its weird.

Are you a Believer or a Christian, need encouragement to stay in the word, struggle with the Bible or prayer?  Then com join are family of believers.  We take prayer requests, have friendly discussions about the Bible, even read bible plans together, and even a conference room bible study sometimes.  Subscribe  here

I write today because I’m having the strangest issue with an edit field within this app.  Specifically in the bible plans area when one is in the talk it over area I am finding that the edit field for entering your thoughts activates just fine with a double tap on an iPhone 12 mini but simply won’t activate no matter what I do on an iPhone 12 Pro Max.  Both phones are running version 14.3 of the operating system and the same version of the You Version Bible app.

I am wondering if those who are smarter than I am or who are perhaps code writers might know what might make an edit field not responsive on a specific model of device as opposed to being universally broken. I’m trying to gather as much information as I can so that when I report that it is still broken perhaps if I give them something meaningful with which to work they might be less likely to swat me aside like an annoying fly. 😂

In all seriousness if anyone can add to my understanding of this issue or offer a work-around it’d make me ever so happy.
