Thanks for telling us about this new remote, I'm waiting on mine to arrive,
Hopefully tomorrow! -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com <viphone@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Ed Worrell Sent: Tuesday, 25 May 2021 10:21 am To: 'Carol Pearson' via VIPhone <viphone@googlegroups.com> Subject: Re: Voiceover and the new Siri remote Hello Mary, The new Apple TV remote is a large improvement from the previous model. I would compare it to the 3rd generation Apple TV, with some of the features of the Apple TV HD and up. 1. It has physical buttons arranged in a circle at the top of the remote and these are used for navigation, think of it like a directional pad with the up, down, left and right buttons with a select button in the middle. Just above that to the top right is the power button, this is a nice addition in my eyes. Below the directional pad is the back button on the left and the home button on the right. Under the back button is the play/pause button and directly under that is the new mute button. Under the Home button on the right is the volume up and down rocker button. 2. One thing to remember is the circle directional pad is also touch sensitive and you can perform the same gestures as on the touch capable Siri remote from the prior models. Luckily these gestures can be turned off as they can make navigation difficult with Voiceover. All in all the new Siri remote is a welcome upgrade and worth it in my opinion. One more note is that it is backwards compatible with the older models of the Apple TV, going all the way back to the Apple TV HD/4th generation. I hope this helps, Ed Worrell > On May 24, 2021, at 12:18 PM, Mary Otten <motte...@gmail.com> wrote: > > I wasn’t sure where to post this, since it’s really a question about this new > Siri remote that comes with the new Apple TV 4K.
