Just an fyi about this I believe it's only available in iOS 6.0 and above.

Hi Lu Ann,

You can select a different sound for your various email accounts in
"Settings", "Notifications", "Mail".
Here you find a list of the various accounts on your phone, double tap on
any of them and you will find the "New email Sound" option.

I thought there was only one email sound. Hubby would like to have
different sounds for his home and work email accounts. He doesn't want to
look at work email when he's off. He's a network engineer and puts in long
hours, so separate sounds would be nice. How do you set up different sounds
for different email accounts?

Hi Rebecca,

I haven't set up anything, it just does. If you have your mail account
configured to use Push or check at a certain time interval it should do
this. I guess it's like phone calls and text messages, they come in
regardless whether the Phone or Messages app is open or in the app switcher
and mail is the same.

And just to make sure I am not putting my foot in my mouth, I did just test
this. I removed everything from the app switcher so it was completely empty.
For good measure I rebooted the phone by turning it off and on again. While
it was off I sent an email from my personal address to my business address,
both of these are set up on my iPhone. My business email is full exchange
via Office 365 and my personal is a Hotmail address and I have both said to
"Push" which means messages come in instantly.

When I turned my phone back on and Voiceover started talking in the lock
screen I waited a moment and about 2 seconds later I heard the mail sound I
selected for my business mail account, I hadn't even unlocked the phone at
that point, once I did Voiceover said "Mail, 1 new item" and my email was
there.

Regards,
Sieghard
