Well, Christina, you must be a pass-through gesture wizard. I've used the 
pass-through gesture a ton and quite successfully, but not when setting up this 
app.
I did manage to eventually get to the final step where you have to use the "tap 
on the red title bar" action.
Since there is no way to find the "red title bar" I did get my sighted wife to 
do that step without VoiceOver running.
I have not had time to do much with the app, but it looks like it might be 
worth the $2.99.
I did find with the month view that you could end up with one month, like 
October, 2013, in the upper half of the screen, and a month like November 2014 
in the lower half of the screen.
That was confusing.
But a three-finger side swipe on the lower portion of the screen got me back to 
the same year.
