Recognizer was a total loss for me, I had no pictures, no one to take the pictures at the time I tried, it is on the computer but not my phone, needing someone to take pictures of things for me to access them just isn't in the cards for me.
Recognizer is one app I wish I had not bought. I found I was not a Fleksy fan either, but I won't ask for my money back, I bought it when it was $14, found that for me it just did not work well. I remember well how much complaining occurred because it was so unreasonable that the developers would put out an app which required assistance from sighted people for getting the personal database set up. VizWiz is free and does the same thing TapTapSee does. However, VizWiz relies on volunteers, so sometimes delays can be very significant before one's picture is recognised. TapTapSee pays for the identification, so the recognition comes back very quickly. The fact is, this is an ongoing fee for TapTapSee, so a one-time charge would not cover the fees for very long considering that we blind are such an insignificant share of the market.
