This is not determined by your email provider. This is a function of
your email client. As Richard says, I don't know how to change this in
the email client on the iPhone. You might check out other email clients
or as Richard suggests, look into texting applications from your iPhod.
This has been discussed on this list several times, so you can check the
list archive. Google Voice does do this and does work well with VoiceOver.

Since he doesn't have an iPhone, you can't use the message app on the
Touch. But, there are quite a few texting apps out there.
I don't know which ones are particularly good with VoiceOver, but I'm
sure there must be reviews on Applevis.com that would help.
