There is alsothe 3 finger double tap to see if speech has been turned off
accidently. I've done this a couple of times. See if you can get Siri to
turn voice over on.

Make sure volume is turned up too. I had this happen before, the volume was
some how turned down. I got some one over to look at my phone at that was
what wrong.
