I just did again about a week ago and received a generic reply yesterday that my concern will be forwarded to the appropriate people. This issue has been around since the very first release of iOS 8 Beta 1 back in June. People with developer accounts such as Jonathan Mosen, Anna, myself and many others have reported it well before iOS 8 was released and I'm sure others have reported it since the official release, but even after 4 official iOS 8 updates the problem persists and I'll go out on a limb here and say that in iOS 8.2 it still exists and Apple has already released the second beta for iOS 8.2. I wouldn't be surprised if the official release of iOS 8.2 was next week, if not I guess it will be in the first couple of weeks of January and the more people write to Apple accessibility about this the better are the chances it might get fixed between now and the official release of 8.2. At this point it's definitely one of the more annoying bugs.
