Tell me about it! I had to install Business::ISBN, which in turn required this, that, and the other thing. By the time I was done, it was like 10 modules (some of which were only required during testing). And these were all pure Perl modules, no XS at all. What a pain!


However, I was able to build DBI and DBD::Oracle with almost no problem at all using 5.8.1...
