I know, but I do not want to try to explain that, for the reason I describe below.

The problem is that so far, only four people have complained to me, and they have not been computer literate. I have had difficulty explaining to them how to fix it, and convincing them it is not my fault.

Computer literate people who can describe "what particular spyware" this is would never contact me in the first place. They would fix the problem on their own. They would realize it cannot be my fault.

That is why I offered vague, noncommittal advice. I do not want to assume responsibility for helping people with this problem. Mainly I have been telling them it is probably a worm or spyware to steer them in the right direction. I suggested to one that she should consult with an expert.

I do not know how widespread this is. I expect there are more than four victims, but the others have fixed it on their own. I do not think there are thousands of infected computers because our traffic is not particularly high.

(Sensible people will also realize that there is nothing remotely pornographic about our content, so obviously we are not behind this effort to link LENR-CANR to an XXX site. However, as it happens, one of our Top Advisors thinks we might want to take this opportunity to promote the field with an unexpected and totally new audience. Kelly-Bootle, for those of you who were born yesterday, is the author of "The Devil's DP Dictionary" which includes, among other gems, some of the best mainframe computer erotica ever published -- we hope.)
